The Midlands Woodworking Show proved to be a fantastic event for BA (Hons) Musical Instrument Craft (Guitar Making and Repair) and (Violin Making and Repair) students.
Held at Newark Showground, the Midlands Woodworking Show provided an excellent platform for the students to display their newly crafted instruments as well as connecting with like-minded individuals.
The School of Musical Instrument Crafts staff and students were thrilled to be part of the event, sharing a stand with Newark College's talented furniture-making staff and students.
Guitar Making and Repair tutor, Manuel Aragon Gimeno, said: "Engaging with visitors was a highlight of the experience, as we had the opportunity to discuss techniques, showcase projects, and exchange ideas with passionate woodworkers from across the region.
"One of the standout aspects of the show was the impressive display of tools and materials. The variety of high-quality woodworking tools available caught the attention of many, and several of our students took advantage of the opportunity to purchase excellent tools directly from vendors. The hands-on experience of seeing and trying tools in person was invaluable for those looking to enhance their craft."
The enthusiasm and dedication of the volunteers at the event played a crucial role in creating a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere. Their active engagement with visitors helped make the show a memorable experience for everyone involved. We were pleased to receive positive feedback from attendees, reaffirming the impact of the event on the woodworking community.
The Midlands Woodworking Show was an inspiring and enriching experience, and we look forward to continuing our involvement in future events that celebrate craftsmanship and creativity.
