Violin Making Student Performs Solo Concert at St Mary’s

Second-year Newark School of Violin Making student Rachel Spence performed a solo concert at St Mary’s Church, Newark, giving a beautifully performed programme in the setting of the church’s newly renovated building.

Rachel, who not only makes and restores violins but is also a talented violist with an impressive CV.

Rachel played a varied repertoire to a well-attended audience in the church. The concert made full use of the warm atmosphere of the renovated venue.

Among the highlights was a lovely spring-themed piece, written by her composer grandfather for her violinist grandmother. The personal connection added a special touch to the programme and was warmly received by those present.

The concert showcased Rachel's talent and musicianship in an evening of music that was both memorable and warmly appreciated by the audience.
