Fiddle Race Returns for 2024 Competition

The Fiddle Race has been a tradition at the Violin School for over 30 years. Students from foundation level to third year students join together and compete to produce a stringed instrument within the allotted time and to a selected theme.

The theme for 2024 is 'Arching Madness’. This will see learners experimenting with new materials, as well as exploring different design concepts.

Each team Leader will pick out of a hat a name of a Maker and will have to make the front arching of the instrument in relation what is picked. The rest of the instrument will be made from the team's imagination which doesn't need to look like a violin!

The competition will start on the 16th December and concludes on the 18th December with a ceremony to crown the winners.
