School of Musical Instrument Crafts graduates, alongside proud friends and family attended the annual Lincoln College University Centre graduation ceremony, held at the historic Lincoln Cathedral on October 2, 2024.

The newly graduated students and their families then joined local dignitaries, prominent employers and college staff for the graduation reception at The Drill to continue the celebrations.

Students received their degrees from three pathways - BA (Hons) Musical Instrument Craft (Guitar Making and Repair), BA (Hons) Musical Instrument Craft (Piano Tuning and Repair), and BA (Hons) Musical Instrument Craft (Woodwind Making and Repair).

Guest of honour, John Robinson, was awarded Companionship of Lincoln College for his contribution to the College and gave an inspiring graduation address.

Lincoln College Group Principal and CEO, Mark Locking, said: “What a fantastic celebration, in the stunning venue of Lincoln Cathedral, of our incredible Higher Education students and their extraordinary achievements! The pride and joy we have seen today from graduates and their families is truly heart-warming.

“Countless staff and lecturers deserve a special mention and thank you in appreciation of their tireless efforts in support of the graduates. Their unwavering commitment and hard work have been the driving force behind our students' success.

“We applaud our remarkable graduates and look forward to their enthusiasm and energy, in their next career steps, making the city of Lincoln and surrounding regions be even more vibrant. Let's celebrate the power of education and the bright futures that lie ahead for our graduates.”

BA (Hons) Musical Instrument Craft (Guitar Making and Repair) student, Aiden Hall-Mcguire, added: "I loved the course. I did it over four years, through Covid, and I've learned a lot about working with wood and building and I've made a lot of friends in the industry. It's been great and I plan now to start my own business."

The School of Musical Instrument Crafts is still recruiting students to study on its degree courses for 2024 entry. It’s not too late to apply, even if a student has started at another University or college. The fee will be reduced to reflect the later start.
